Third year Roehampton law students can apply for the Law School Clinic module option.
Successful candidates will:
Gain invaluable practical experience working with Reshma Derasari and Cynthia Opoku-Gyamfi who give clients legal advice on issues such as landlord and tenant, consumer, employment and family.
Learn and practice essential paralegal skills including:
- How to conduct client interviews
- Undertaking legal research
- Draft a variety of documents such as, attendance notes, witness statements and applications to the Court including pleadings.
Receive training on substantive law and relevant soft skills.
Develop your legal practice management skills by using the same legal software used by most firms.
Benefit from one to one supervising support and feedback and be part of social justice in action.
Currently our student volunteers spend on average five and a half hours every fortnight on client matters, half of which is direct client contact.
