You’ll learn:

A repertoire of powerful techniques, such as incisive questioning; active listening; goal setting and effective feedback
The ability to apply insights from the literature in the field
The capacity to critically engage with the professional literature on coaching and mentoring
Enhancing self-awareness because of psychometric testing, journal writing and peer coaching

These three strands will ensure that you are ready for the practical realities of coaching and mentoring in a wide range of sectors.

This programme is Ideal for Professional Co-ordinating Mentors (PCMs), particularly in light of the forthcoming introduction of the Early Career Framework. By focusing on the role of responsible leadership, you’ll become a confident, agile, independent thinker, with the ability to adapt rapidly to change.

Designed with professionals in mind, the Roehampton Coaching and Mentoring PGCert will help you anticipate and manage conflicts of interest and ethical dilemmas so that you can become a leader in your field

Learning

Learn in a stimulating environment

The course is delivered through interactive workshops at Roehampton, on weekday evenings and weekends. There will also be blended learning sessions and online forums.

The assessment has two components:

A presentation on a specific aspect of coaching/mentoring and
A short film of your practice as a coach/mentor with an accompanying commentary

With a Roehampton PGCert, you can become a responsible coach and mentor and have a positive impact in the workplace by supporting colleagues’ personal and professional growth. This is a CPD course for professionals currently working in a range of sectors.

Students on the course will already be in employment. However, the course provides continuing professional development that will enable students to develop knowledge, skills and understanding as part of their developing ambitions in leadership and management.

Further Study Options

Students who successfully complete the course may be able to transfer up to 60 credits awarded at the end of the course into one of Roehampton's MA programmes.
