Outcomes
Upon completing the sessions, participants will:
- Gain practical skills for teaching food education.
- Learn to design effective food curriculums and manage food classrooms.
- Acquire knowledge about food safety, assessment strategies, and food science integration in lessons.
- Be prepared for job interviews and practical teaching assessments.
- Learn culinary skills through 30 cook-a-long recipe videos. These will be completed by participants at home and evidence of the work will be uploaded for assessment.
Timetable
Each day will comprise a morning ‘theory session’ delivered by the University of Roehampton and an afternoon ‘practical skills session’ delivered by Leiths.

- Session 6: Delivering Effective Practical Lessons (including Food Science) – Friday 14 March 2025
- Session 7: Food and Nutrition Subject Knowledge – Friday 11 April 2025
- Session 8: Assessment, Progression, and Differentiation – Friday 9 May 2025
- Session 9: GCSE Non-exam Assessments (NEA) – Friday 13 June 2025
