We're thrilled to announce that nominations for the 2026's Chancellor's Alumni Awards open on 23 February. The awards recognise the outstanding achievements, success and impact our amazing alumni community continue to make.
There will be 20 award winners. Nominations are open from 23 February - 17 April 2026.

Criteria
Eligibility of nominees
- Nominees must have successfully completed an undergraduate, foundation, postgraduate or doctoral award at the University of Roehampton, or one of its associated colleges or partners
- Alumni who have previously been recognised with a Chancellor’s Award will not be eligible again
- The nominee must be alive as no posthumous awards will be made
Eligibility to nominate
- Nominations can come from alumni, staff, students, Council members, former staff, friends, family and colleagues
- Alumni are able to self-nominate providing they submit an application with a supporting professional letter and send it to alumni@roehampton.ac.uk. The letter cannot be from a family member. Self-nominations without a letter will not be accepted.
Judging process
- Nominations will be shortlisted by the Alumni Relations and Ceremonies team
- The shortlist will then be considered by a panel, pre-selected to represent areas of the university
- The judges will select the successful nominees and their decision will be final. There will be no right of appeal
- Judges will not be eligible to judge alumni they have nominated.
Submission details
- The online form must be completed in full to be considered
- Incomplete nominations or nominees who do not meet the criteria of that category will not be considered
- A category must be selected when nominating. Alumni cannot be shortlisted for more than one category
- Supporting statements must detail the nominee's eligibility for the award, their background, career and achievements
- Nominations will be open from 23 February - 17 April 2026. Nominations made outside of these dates will not be considered.
Award categories and criteria
Alumni Innovation and Inspiration Award (recognising innovation and entrepreneurial spirit).
Alumni eligible for this category include:
- Those who have founded or co-founded one or more commercially viable companies
- Inspiring role models, mentors or champions for equality and diversity in their industry
- Those who are influencing change or making a positive impact on society through their professional, personal or charitable activities
Alumni Contribution Award (recognising those who contribute to their professional field, to society or to the Roehampton community).
Alumni eligible for this category include:
- Those who are making a positive contribution to their community, workplace and/or society for example through volunteering, campaigning or charitable activities
- Those who are actively supporting the University and its students, for example through mentoring, career support, work experience, donations or other activity.
Announcement of winners
- All successful nominees will be contacted by the Alumni Relations and Ceremonies team
- Nominators and nominees will not be contacted unless they have won an award
- Award winners will be informed via email in June 2026
- Winners will be invited to a celebratory event in the autumn on campus with their family and friends.
