At Roehampton, we connect organisations with talented students and graduates from a diverse range of subject areas.
From work placements and guest lecturing to employer events and access to our hiring platform Handshake, we offer a variety of initiatives to connect you with emerging talent and help your business grow.
Our students are able to complete a year-long work placement as part of their course or as an extra-curricular internship. Certain degrees with a Professional Experience Year also offer a shorter 30-week placement option.
Hosting a student on a placement is a great way to invest in future talent while sourcing short-term resource support or project work in a flexible and cost-effective way.
Many organisations now see work placements as a key element of their recruitment strategy.
Email employerconnect@roehampton.ac.uk to find out more about our placements.
If your organisation is facing a commercial or strategic challenge, Roehampton's Business School can support you through student consultancy projects.
Our undergraduate and postgraduate students bring fresh insights, new ideas and dedicated resource at no cost, delivering agreed outcomes that benefit both your organisation and their academic learning.
Projects are supervised by Business School academics, and we ask organisations to nominate a project lead who can provide a brief, act as the main contact and gather key information where required.
We are happy to discuss your project ideas. Previous consultancy topics include:
- Feasibility studies or creation of a development plan for a new project or idea
- Developing innovative new income streams
- A review of Corporate Social Responsibility policy
- An employee retention plan
Employers can post vacancies and events on Handshake, our online careers platform.
Simply create a free account, add your organisation’s details and submit your vacancy for approval. Once posted, your opportunity will be visible to thousands of Roehampton students and graduates.
Please note:
- All vacancy postings must list a salary in the designated salary field (unless it is a volunteering position)
- We are unable accept overseas or international opportunities
- All vacancy postings undergo a due diligence screening process and we reserve the right to refuse to publish any vacancies we do not deem suitable for our students.

We invite employers to engage with our community, share their expertise and promote their brand through a range of careers sessions and events.
Whether you’d like to deliver a talk or workshop, contribute a guest lecture within the curriculum, or attend a careers fair on our beautiful parkland campus, there are many ways to get involved.
Kirsty Taylor, Social Media and Marketing Executive, TG Consulting Ltd
"Working with the University of Roehampton has been an incredible experience for us.
We welcomed our first student from the university to the TG Consulting team in 2022, and since then, we have hosted a further nine students, all of whom have made a positive impact at TG Consulting.
The team and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with each of the students. I have particularly appreciated witnessing their progress from the beginning of their internships to their completion. In many cases, the students integrated so well into our team that we were able to extend their internships, allowing them to stay with us longer.
Hands-on experience is important to us, which is why we encourage the students who join our team to fully immerse themselves and participate in various projects. We not only welcome their ideas but also provide them with the opportunity to execute those ideas in a supportive environment, fostering their learning and growth.
If you have the opportunity to invite students from the University of Roehampton onto your team, I highly recommend doing so. It’s a rewarding experience for everyone involved!"
