The University of Roehampton is committed to promoting diversity and equality of opportunity and aims to create a culture and environment in which students and staff are treated fairly irrespective of race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, marital/civil partnership status, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability, age or parental, pregnancy or maternity status.
As part of this commitment, the University is undertaking a periodic review of all policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with the relevant legislation, particularly the provisions of the Equality Act 2010.
The University prepares an annual Equality Report to demonstrate how it is meeting the Public Sector Equality Duty. The Report will be updated as appropriate and at least on an annual basis. The University has also introduced Equality Objectives to ensure compliance with its duty and prepares an annual Equal Pay Audit to help identify and address any pay inequities that may arise because of gender, race, disability and part-time or fixed-term contracts.

A number of activities and events are held across the University throughout the year to promote diversity and equal opportunities issues. Such events are designed to engage all members of the University’s community.
