Parent Body
Student Life Committee.
Terms of Reference
To act with delegated authority on behalf of the Student Life Committee, and report to the Student Life Committee on all matters relating to student accommodation, on and off campus. In particular:
Developmental
- To develop a University Student Accommodation Strategy including key performance indicators that consider supply, quality and level of student satisfaction with the accommodation;
- To advise Estates Committee on the operational and student needs for additional accommodation;
- To define the allocation guidelines for student accommodation;
- To define guidelines for the management and coordination of private off-campus accommodation;
- To report recommended rent increases and changes to the room stock to the University and seek approval for the increase in rent proposals from the University Finance and Estates Committee;
Monitoring
- To monitor implementation and future development of the Accommodation Strategy;
- To monitor compliance with UUK Code of Practice on Management of Student Housing and other issues of legal compliance on accommodation matters;
- To consider the results of the annual review of student satisfaction regarding accommodation, and to undertake any additional survey deemed necessary with regard to accommodation.
- To report regularly to the University Student Life Committee on matters impacting upon University accommodation strategy;
Operational
- To seek the views of students on proposals relating to student accommodation;
- To ensure effective communication is undertaken with key stake holders such as students, the Colleges, the Roehampton Student Union, the International Office, the Admissions and Enquiries Office and the Student Affairs Office.
- To submit an annual report to the Student Life Committee.
