Collaborative Provision Review Subcommittee

Purpose

The subcommittee acts on behalf of the Curriculum Strategy Committee (CSC) in order to:

  • Monitor the risk associated with each collaborative partnership based on data and information, including but not limited to:
    • financial performance;
    • legal and regulatory issues;
    • outcomes and academic standards;
    • student experience;
    • student recruitment;
  • Monitor the quality of provision at partnership institutions;
  • Maintain an overview of academic partnerships and articulation arrangements;
  • Maintain an overview of partnership development;
  • Monitor the renewal of partnership contracts.

The subcommittee meets at least six times a year.

Terms of Reference

  • To provide regular oversight of all provision taught by or at partner institutions, in order to meet the Office for Students’ ongoing conditions of registration in relation to quality, reliable standards and positive outcomes, ensuring that all students:
    • receive a high-quality academic experience;
    • receive appropriate resources, support and effective engagement;
    • achieve successful outcomes, which are recognised and valued by employers, and/or enable further study;
    • are assessed effectively and reliably, and that relevant awards granted to students are credible at the point of being granted and when compared to those granted previously;
    • are awarded qualifications which align with sector-recognised standards.
  • To monitor the effectiveness of quality assurance processes, ensuring high-quality teaching at partner institutions.
  • To maintain an overview of the financial sustainability of partner institutions and programmes.
  • To maintain an overview of recruitment to programmes delivered by partner institutions.
  • To ensure the effective management of partnerships.
  • To share information about potential partnerships and partnerships in development.
  • To receive audits and reviews of academic partner programmes and institutions, and identify any issues which may have wider implications for the university.
  • To approve and maintain oversight of articulation and progression agreements.
  • To make recommendations to CSC regarding partnership viability and contract renewal.
