Philosophy and Literature have a lot to say to each other, and at Roehampton, these two disciplines are very connected. At Roehampton our course in English Literature and Philosophy will allow you to consider the important and universal questions common to both subjects and reach a deeper understanding of yourself and your intellectual and cultural landscape.
In this session, you can join a philosopher and a literary scholar in discussing Patrice Lawrence's short story 'The Clean Sweep'.
You'll discover what philosophy has to say about the ethics of surveillance, punishment, and class; and what literary theory can tell us about young adult fiction, growing up, and dystopian world building.
Come along and discuss your own opinions with lecturers and students as part of our Literature and Philosophy book club!
