The University of Roehampton has received a “Good” rating from Ofsted for its apprenticeship provision following an inspection in May.
The Ofsted inspection, which looks at the quality of education provided, learner experience and leadership and management, awarded Roehampton a rating of “Good” in all areas.

The report noted that the learner experience provided by Roehampton has led to learners feeling “motivated and positive about their experience”. It was highlighted in particular that the nursing apprentices worked together to support each other through more sensitive and challenging topics and are well supported by their lecturers with follow up counselling to help them process their emotions after studying difficult topics.
The education given is well rounded and delivered by experienced lectures. They use their skills, knowledge, and connections in the profession to provide learners with both the key training required, but also how this applies in practice. Career progression is a key focus, with apprentices receiving effective advice, including taking part in mock interviews and options for further training.
The university is committed to working with local communities in south London to support the skills shortages. In healthcare we have been working with a range of local stakeholders to develop several new programmes to support the need for an estimated 9,200 new jobs by 2030 in south London.
Jo Rixon, Deputy Dean of Healthcare Education, said “We are delighted to have been recognised with a rating of Good across all five of the measures in this inspection. It is important to us that we are providing a high-quality learning experience where our learners feel comfortable and confident in their abilities, and that we are working with our local healthcare sector to provide them with the employees they need. This inspection recognises our commitment to this, and is a testament to the hard work of our staff, and learners”.
