Roehampton’s faculty holds its first ‘Festival of Research’

The Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Roehampton held its first ‘Festival of Research’ on 18 June.

The event, which was funded through the Centre for Sustainability and Responsible Management (CSRM)’s ‘Enhancing Research Culture’ budget was an opportunity to bring staff, academics and researchers together from the university to share and exchange knowledge and create connections through mutual areas of interest as well as new collaborations.

The all-day event, held in the Mandela Building at Roehampton, included sessions with members of the faculty alongside invited talks from other areas at the university.

There were four sessions, that focused on: labour market inequalities and precarious work; sustainability and climate change; economic decisions and policies and learning, and organisations and identity. The invited talks focused on advice on publicising research and Roehampton’s research culture.

The event concluded with a talk from Professor Stephen Drinkwater, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law and Director of the CSRM, about future steps.

Professor Drinkwater said: “This event showcased the exciting research that is being undertaken across the faculty, covering a wide range of topics relating to business, law and associated disciplines. The research presentations led to many interesting discussions on the day and these will hopefully also develop collaborations to produce important research findings in the future”.
