Catherine Jones named Most Inspiring Lecturer at St George’s Excellence in Education Awards

Catherine Jones, Senior Lecturer in Nurse Education at the University of Roehampton, has been named Most Inspiring Lecturer at this year’s St George’s Excellence in Education Awards.

Voted for by nursing, healthcare support workers and allied health professional colleagues, the award recognises Catherine’s exceptional dedication to delivering high-quality, engaging and motivating education.

The Excellence in Education Awards celebrate the many impressive initiatives, innovations and examples of high-quality education and training taking place across the Trust and City St George’s. They recognise colleagues’ contributions to education and training, as well as work in quality improvement and education.

The 2025 ceremony, hosted by the Medical Education team at St George’s and held at AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium, brought together colleagues from across the organisation to acknowledge the exceptional work being carried out in these areas.

Speaking about her win, Catherine said "Receiving the Most Inspiring Lecturer award is an incredible honour. It means so much to know that my students and colleagues feel I have made a real difference to their learning and professional development.

“When I found out I had won, I was genuinely surprised and deeply touched – it’s lovely to know that your efforts are valued in this way. It makes all the hard work worthwhile.

“Being recognised has given me fresh motivation to continue developing my teaching, supporting my students and finding new ways to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals."

The University of Roehampton continues to deliver high-quality education in healthcare, preparing graduates to make a meaningful difference in their professions.
