Zoe Lasaki, Southlands College Community Leader, has been selected by AXA Insurance to write and record music for a short documentary-style video. She was invited to spend the day in a professional London studio, writing and recording music alongside Jordan Stephens of Rizzle Kicks.
AXA told Zoe a significant reason why she was selected was the talent, ingenuity and skill she demonstrated by producing the Southlands Anthem in 2025. Zoe received guidance and support from members of the Southlands College team and the Southlands Methodist Trust to plan and deliver this special project which captured the Methodist ethos of Southlands in a creative and original way.

Student leadership across the University of Roehampton provides students with the opportunities to run events and projects that improve the student experience, while contributing to their own personal and professional development. This is yet another example of how the institution cultivates unique opportunities for students.
Tazim Fatima, Student Leadership Manager, said:
“Zoe is a great example of what can happen when we give students the space to develop their talents. She took on the Southlands Anthem project for World Kindness Day and created something incredibly special that captured the spirit of Southlands. She embodies the creativity and community spirit of the university. Seeing her selected by AXA Insurance for a professional campaign fills us with pride.”

“The opportunity to create this anthem has really become an important part of my journey, it has convinced me to pivot more into the music industry and has opened a lot of opportunities! I’m very thankful to have been given the chance to create it and I'm proud to be a student leader at the University of Roehampton”
