Description: The human capacity for skeletal muscle force production (known as strength) limits functional performance and health. This project investigates the mechanisms of skeletal muscle force production in the context of training, disuse, injury and disease. The project takes an interdisciplinary approach to assess the neural, muscular, and tendinous factors affecting force production, from a whole-system in vivo level, to a cellular and even molecular level.
