Pentecostal Commentary on the Fourth Gospel

Dr. John Moxon’s research examines writing generally in the field of Hellenistic, Jewish, and Early Christian literature, and he is currently working on a KEX-oriented commentary on John’s Gospel, bringing up to date academic research into dialogue with emerging majority-world traditions from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. In the course of this work, he has published a long format linguistic study of a translational problem in an ancient parenetic letter, typical of the background work that lies behind commentary projects.

The John’s Gospel project, which should run to c.300,000 words is to appear in Wipf & Stock’s PNTC commentary series, will offer a particularly important opportunity to bring an ancient gospel of potentially “charismatic” provenance to a contemporary global Pentecostal audience which is arguably under-engaged with this text.
