Contracts

Licence Periods

We have introduced a wider range of rental periods for on-campus contracts for 2024-25 are:

  • 39 weeks for undergraduate students
  • We also have 36 and 38 week rental periods for undergraduates in selected halls
  • 44 weeks for PGCE students
  • 51 weeks for Postgraduate students

All contract lengths include the Christmas and Easter vacations. We are unable to offer short term lets. For students on courses which start later in the academic year, it is not possible to guarantee accommodation as accommodation licences begin in September. Please contact us via accommodation@roehampton.ac.uk with the date from which you require a room and we will look at the availability. If we weren’t able to help you with campus accommodation, we will advise and help you in finding accommodation off campus.

Legally binding contract - on-campus

All documents below form the accommodation contract. You must read the Terms and Conditions of the Licence before you apply for accommodation in University residences. In particular you should know in advance that you are committed to paying the whole licence fee, even if you want to move out early (for example moving somewhere off campus, or you have no more academic committments left), except under certain circumstances such as withdrawing from the University. It is your responsibility to be familiar with the Terms and Conditions of your contract, as you must confirm that you have read and understsood them when you accept your accommodation offer.

Fire Safety - Evacuation plans

Fire safety legislation requires the University to ensure that all occupants of our buildings can escape to a safe place in the event of a fire or other emergency. Many people with disabilities are able to evacuate a building without assistance or with minimal help from others. Some individuals may require further assistance and in such cases a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) is created. If you feel that you may need further assistance evacuating a building, please read the guidance and then complete the Fire Evacuation questionnaire.
