When it comes to results day, we want you to know that we are here to support you.
If you decide to go through Clearing on the day, don’t stress! We have a few tips to make Clearing as straightforward as possible, helping you to secure a place at the University of Roehampton.
Research your options in advance
Start researching courses available through clearing in advance.
Having a few options noted down will make the clearing process less stressful and will speed up things on the day.
It’s also worth having some notes on the different courses just in case you are asked questions like “Why do you want to study this course?”.
Be organised
Have what you need in front of you.
When you pick up the phone to talk to one of our friendly clearing advisors, make sure you have the following information in front of you:
- A list of your Level 2 qualifications (GCSEs or equivalent) and Level 3 qualifications (A levels, BTEC, Access etc.) and the grades you’ve achieved in each
- Your UCAS ID number if you have one. If you’re not registered to UCAS for this cycle, don’t worry, we can still help – just give us a call
- What you want to study (with the course title and UCAS code if you have it!)
Be flexible
With clearing, you will find that there are lots of options available that allow you to follow a similar path to your original choice.
Why not consider applying to a foundation programme, a Higher Technical Qualification, or a course with similar content, you will find a few courses cross over with modules, for example, Business Management and Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
Find a good spot to call
Find a quiet and comfortable place to call with good internet and connection.
You must make the call yourself so ensure you are in an environment where you can concentrate and put your best self across, without any distractions.
Make notes during the call
There will be lots of important information you will want to remember during your clearing call.
Jotting down notes whilst on the call will ensure you don’t miss anything important. You can take time to compare notes afterwards to help decide the best option for you.
Take note of the name and details of who you spoke to just in case you need to talk to them again.
If we are able to process a provisional offer for you during the call, you will receive an immediate offer by email containing detailed information on what to do next.
Ask questions
Before you call, write down any questions you have about the course and university.
These could be questions about accommodation, student support, or facilities on campus.
Any questions or concerns you have, don’t be afraid to ask, it is important you have all the information you need to make the right decision for you.
