This course is for experienced, qualified creative arts therapists, psychotherapists, and counsellors who want to deepen their understanding of supervision.
It focuses on relational and embodied approaches, integrating somatic and intersubjective perspectives. You’ll learn to move from therapist to supervisor by developing presence, awareness of relational dynamics, and ethical responsiveness.
Intended audience
For qualified creative arts therapists, psychotherapists and counsellors.
Why this course?
At the heart of this programme is the belief that supervision is a living, embodied, and relational process. At Roehampton, we view supervision as a creative, collaborative space that supports ethical practice, cultivates reflective depth, and honours the intelligence of the body as a method of producing knowledge. Grounded in contemporary supervision theory and enriched by embodied, movement-based and relational approaches, this course invites participants to develop their supervisory presence with curiosity, integrity, and sensitivity to difference.
Through experiential methods, including role work, live supervision labs, reflective practice, and mentoring, you’ll build a confident supervisory voice that supports both individual and group processes. The course emphasises embodied ways of knowing and knowledge creation, exploring the relational process of power, diversity and ethics.
Accreditation
The course is accredited by the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMP UK) and graduates will be eligible to apply for recognition as supervisors under ADMP UK.
