Nathanael Lessore is a multi-award-winning author of teen fiction, whose debut novel has earned numerous accolades, including the Branford Boase Award in 2024, the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, UKLA Book Award, Diverse Book Awards, Jhalak Prize and Carnegie Shadower’s Medal in 2025, alongside several regional awards.
Nathanael champions representation and celebrates the diversity of South London through his stories. His writing explores the experiences, friendships and challenges of young people, bringing fresh and authentic voices to children’s and young adult fiction.
When he’s not writing, Nathanael enjoys stargazing at the moon and mysteriously standing in doorways. If he hadn’t become a writer, he would have been a professional footballer — if not for his lack of fitness, talent and basic understanding of the game.
