Ashley Luchmun, Senior Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Roehampton, has been awarded the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) by the Queens Nursing Institute (QNI).
The QN title is awarded to registered nurses who have demonstrated consistently high standards of practice in community nursing.
The QNI has a 135-year history of inspiring community nurses, influencing policy and practice, and campaigning for investment in high-quality services.
To be awarded the title, individuals need to demonstrate integrity, honesty, compassion, and commitment to practice and enhancing learning in community nursing.

Being a QN means Ashley is now part of a network of individuals with the same vision and passion for community nursing. This recognition also reinforces the University of Roehampton's commitment to providing high quality community-orientated nursing courses.

Ashley said “Having spent all my clinical nursing career as a community nurse, being awarded the QN title is a moment of great privilege and pride.
“I would like to thank Paul Newcome and Jane Hopping for their encouragement and support, and the Roehampton Nursing students who also supported my application.
“I’d like to dedicate this award to the Nurse Education team who all share the same passion for nursing and educating the next generation of nurses.”
