'Husband', a film by Josh Appignanesi - Programme Convener of the University of Roehampton's BA Film Production - is set for theatrical release in cinemas across the UK, following its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The film is set to be released in cinemas and on Curzon Home Cinema from Friday, 10 February, with a London Q&A premiere set for Wednesday, 8 February at Curzon Soho.
Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian said in his 4-star review that ‘Husband is a complex, subtle kind of guided reality show, like Made in Chelsea with a hint of Curb Your Enthusiasm.’
The auto-fictional docu-comedy that ironies male fragility and gender roles in our times was co-directed with, and co-stars his wife Devorah Baum. It tells the story of a husband supporting his spouse on her first book tour in New York City, except he is reluctant, envious, and useless at it.
With a catalogue of successes, Josh’s work has included documentary feature The New Man, the David Baddiel-scripted comedy The Infidel, and his award-winning debut feature Song of Songs. Josh also co-wrote the Hollywood romcom All Roads Lead To Rome starring Sarah Jessica Parker.
More details of screenings of the film can be found on the Dartmouth Films website.
