A cornerstone of this partnership is the collaboration between University of Roehampton’s Sustainable Engineering and Technology Education Centre (SETEC) with HRUC’s STEM Centre in Richmond Upon Thames College. The University will also become a member of HRUC’s West London Institute of Technology (WLIOT).

Professor Jean-Noel Ezingeard, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Roehampton, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: "Creating this strategic partnership between Roehampton and HRUC enables us to positively impact communities across London, and provide new educational opportunities in growing areas of our economy, including in sustainable engineering and technology”.

Keith Smith, CEO of Harrow, Richmond, and Uxbridge Colleges, said, “This dynamic partnership between HRUC and the University of Roehampton will deliver a shared and enhanced academic experience. Together, we intend to uncover fresh opportunities for young minds to journey from FE to higher education. We will be focusing on engineering, construction, and STEM - enabling student progress, facilitating innovation and unlocking inspired collaborations."

The partnership also aims to engage directly with local and regional businesses to ensure collaboration in areas that provide for current and future industry needs. This collaborative approach benefits not only students, but also local employers seeking a highly trained and technologically adept workforce.
