The University of Roehampton is pleased to announce that Sheila Sobrany, Senior Lecturer in Nursing, has been appointed Joint Regional Lead for London in the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Midwifery Officer’s Black and Minority Ethnic Strategic Advisory Group (CNO/CMidOBMESAG).

This voluntary leadership role supports the NHS’s ongoing commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), with Sheila playing a pivotal part in shaping regional strategies that promote fairness and representation within nursing and midwifery across London.

Speaking on her appointment, Sheila said, "It’s a privilege to continue serving the profession in a role that allows me to champion equality and amplify the voices of our diverse nursing and midwifery communities.

“I hope this appointment will inspire both current and future students to see what is possible when we lead with purpose and integrity."

Sheila brings over three decades of experience in clinical practice, education, and national leadership to the role. Her recent recognition with the Royal College of Nursing’s (RCN) highest honour, the 2025 Award of Merit, highlights her long-standing dedication to advancing the profession.
