MFA Choreography students selected for international dance festival

Two MFA Choreography students from the University of Roehampton have been selected to present original work at The Place, as part of Resolutions, the UK’s leading annual festival dedicated to emerging choreographers.

Held at The Place in King’s Cross, London, Resolutions is an internationally recognised platform that showcases new choreographic voices from across the UK and around the world. Selection for the festival is highly competitive and represents a significant professional milestone for early-career artists.

Qi Song presented their work at the festival on 13 January, while Jie Gao will present their piece on Wednesday, 5 February at 7.30pm. Both performances form part of the 2026 edition of Resolutions, which brings together innovative contemporary dance works across a multi-week programme.

Participation in Resolutions offers students invaluable professional exposure, including the opportunity to receive press reviews, connect with industry professionals, and obtain high-quality filmed documentation of their work for future promotion and career development.

The University of Roehampton congratulates Qi Song and Jie Gao on this outstanding achievement, which reflects the strength of creative practice and professional development within the MFA Choreography programme.
