Roehampton Graduates see strong salary growth and outstanding long-term career success

New government data has highlighted the strong career progression of University of Roehampton graduates, with earnings growth outperforming both the wider higher education sector and comparable institutions.

The latest Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) data, published by the Department for Education, tracks graduate earnings one, three and five years after completing their degrees. The results show that Roehampton graduates continue to build successful careers, achieving significant salary growth over time.

One year after graduation, Roehampton graduates recorded salary growth of 7.8% year-on-year, exceeding both the sector average and comparable universities. Five years after graduation, graduate earnings increased by 6.1% year-on-year, again outperforming benchmark groups.

The data also demonstrates the long-term value of a Roehampton education. Median earnings five years after graduation have increased from £24,500 to £31,100 over the reporting period an increase of almost 27%. This strong upward trajectory means Roehampton graduates consistently match or outperform similar modern universities in London as their careers develop.

Professor Jean-Noël Ezingeard, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Roehampton, said:

"These results reflect our commitment to helping students achieve lasting career success. We are proud that our graduates continue to demonstrate strong earnings growth and career progression, and that employers recognise the value of a Roehampton education."

Several subject areas delivered particularly impressive results, outperforming both comparable universities and the wider higher education sector.

Education and Teaching graduates achieved median earnings of £32,900, making it Roehampton's highest-earning subject area and significantly above both sector and benchmark averages.

Strong performances were also seen in Performing arts, where graduates earned £26,700 on average, outperforming both the sector and peer institutions. Also, in Sport and Exercise Sciences, with earnings of £28,700 and a significant premium over comparable universities.

The findings provide further evidence that Roehampton's creative, social science and professional programmes are delivering strong outcomes for graduates entering a rapidly evolving employment market.

The latest data also highlights Roehampton's commitment to fairness and inclusion. Three years after graduation, male and female graduates earned the same median salary, giving Roehampton a zero gender pay gap in this measure and placing the University among the strongest performers for gender equality in graduate earnings.
