Final year design students at the University of Roehampton have shared their creative projects with staff, students, visitors and the wider design community at the annual Design Showcase.
This year’s showcase featured work from design finalists, with students presenting a wide range of creative projects that reflected their skills, ideas and development as emerging designers. The showcase forms part of Roehampton’s wider design community and is designed to give final year students from both BA Digital Design and BA Graphic Design the opportunity to share their work.
The showcase is a key moment in the calendar for Roehampton’s design students. It gives final year undergraduates the opportunity to come together and share their eclectic creative projects with the Roehampton community and invited guests from the wider design industry.
Held in the Sir David Bell Building, the showcase transformed the dynamic gallery space into a place of visual and interactive conversation. Visitors were invited to explore a wide range of new design proposals and experience the creativity, skill and ideas developed by students during their studies.
Projects on display reflected the breadth of design practice, with different areas crossing over across the exhibition. These included motion graphics, visual identity, illustration, digital experiences, editorial design, systems design and mobile application interfaces.
The showcase also highlighted how students are developing the creative, technical and professional skills needed for future careers in the design industry. Through their projects, students explored a wide range of themes and interests as they experimented with ideas, developed their creative voice and prepared for their professional futures as designers.
The event offered an opportunity to celebrate Roehampton’s emerging designers and recognise the creativity, ambition and practical skills they have developed during their course.
