Collaborating with the Universities of Greenwich (Prof. Elena Vacchelli (PI)), Delhi (Prof. Anindita Datta) and Malmö (Prof. Carina Listerborn), this transdisciplinary, co-creative project brings together international scholars in the fields of sociology, feminist geography, cultural and media studies, to explore cross-cultural experiences of menopause.
Deborah Jermyn is an Associate Professor in Film at Roehampton who has written widely on representations of ageing and gender in the media. Drawing on her research on 'the menopausal turn' (2023), the network will move beyond only biomedical frameworks to instead explore and disseminate experiences of menopause from a breadth of national, socio-economic and cultural contexts.
