Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

Build on cutting edge academic expertise to take your business to the next level while supporting the next generation of experts in your sector.

If you have an idea for your business but require the latest expertise to drive it forward, a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) may be the perfect solution for you. KTP is a UK-wide scheme co-funded by Innovate UK, aimed at supporting businesses to improve their productivity and performance. This world-leading programme has been running for over 40 years, being one of largest government programmes to support businesses of all sizes.

A KTP is a three-way collaboration between a business, a university and a skilled graduate (known as a KTP Associate) recruited to deliver your business project. The KTP Associate manages and delivers the project based at your business, while being jointly supervised by an expert from the University of Roehampton. This three-way partnership works together to support the strategic development of your business. Organisations involved in KTPs increase profits, develop cutting-edge products, services and procedures and access new markets, overall becoming more innovative, efficient and ready to compete.

A collaboration with the University of Roehampton will enable your business to directly benefit from the wide-range of expertise of our researchers who are engaged in innovative research focusing on health and wellbeing, economic and ecological sustainability, the creative arts and the industries that support them, and working for just and inclusive societies.

Through this scheme, you can work with us for anywhere between 12 and 36 months, depending on what the project is and the needs you require, receiving financial support and bespoke expertise from our leading academics.
