Physiotherapists support people affected by injury, illness or disability to improve movement, manage pain and maintain independence.

They work across a range of health and care settings using approaches such as exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.

The BSc Physiotherapy Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Roehampton provides a practical route into the profession through a combination of employment, university study and practice placements. Apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required for physiotherapy practice while contributing to their workplace.

The programme was created in close consultation with stakeholders, it is a contemporary curriculum that reflects current health and social care priorities, with a focus on prevention of ill health and health promotion, as well as community-based care. A key feature of the programme is interprofessional learning, elements of the programme are taught with Occupational Therapists and other healthcare students, which supports an understanding of how care is delivered in practice.
