Clearing is a process that happens every year that helps you find a course, at a university that has places available.
It is an opportunity to find a course that is right for you, whether you’ve changed your mind about where and what you want to study, or you’ve just decided you want to go to university this year or you didn’t get the results you were planning.
Clearing is a way in which you can apply for university if you don't have a confirmed place.
For some people this might be because they didn't get the grades they needed for either their firm or insurance offers, but there are lots of other reasons Clearing could be the right route into university.
You can use Clearing if:
Thousands of students use Clearing every year to find a place at university. Whatever your situation, Clearing could help you start your exciting journey studying at the University of Roehampton.
Early Clearing opens on 5 July 2025.
Most people use Clearing on results day, when they recieve their exam results. This year this is on Thursday 14 August.
The last date for adding any Clearing choices is 20 October 2025.
We'll list the courses that have spaces on our website.

Before results day, have a look at courses you're interested in.
Having a few options noted down will make the clearing process less stressful and will speed up things on the day.
It’s worth making some notes on the different courses just in case you are asked questions like “Why do you want to study this course?”.

If you find yourself in Clearing or you are looking for a place, our hotline will open in July 2025 for Early Clearing.
You'll speak to one of our friendly Admissions Advisers who are there to help you and answer any questions.

We'll ask you for the information above and then will let you know if we can make you an offer.
At this stage, offers will be conditional and will only be confirmed once you have added a Clearing choice in UCAS or made a direct application and met your conditions.
Flexible offer-making - we will consider your wider circumstances in considering your offer. We accept a wide range of qualifications including BTEC qualifications, A-levels, and T-levels and will offer flexibility depending on your wider circumstances. We welcome applications from students of all ages and backgrounds.
Remember, we will only be able to help you if you already have all your results.
Please note that any offer made is subject to our student contract.
We'll send you a provisional offer email which will have details of the next steps - make sure you keep an eye out for it!
Yes, you need to be registered with UCAS before we can process your application.
We'll have rooms available for you in our on-campus accommodation. If you accept your offer by the deadline, we can guarantee you a place.
