Professional Experience Year
This course also offers the option of a Professional Experience Year. This programme combines dynamic career modules with flexible placement opportunities. After completing your first year of study, you'll then complete a full year of Professional Experience training as part of your degree. This will give you real career experience. This unique opportunity offers you distinct paths to build your expertise.
Skills
Get the employment law and practice from a socio-economic perspective.
This unique LLM Employment Law and Human Resource Management will help you understand the legal framework that applies to corporate and business entities, taught by academic specialists from our Business School and Law School.
The diverse, enriching and relevant modules include:
- Sustainaibiliy and fashion
- Intellectual property
- Business and human rights
- Economic justice
You'll be taught through case studies and get exposure to ‘live’ cases within our Law School Clinic. You'll also visit the Employment Tribunal and learn from judge-led talks and presentations.
A research and professional skills module is integrated in the course, as well as an option to take an introductory module on the principles of international law.

On our LLM Employment Law and Human Resourcemet Management is divided into three clusters:
- Employment law
- Business cluster
- Corporate social responsibility
1. The core employment law cluster consists of modules covering all of the common and fundamental aspect of employment law and practice as encountered by those working, or wishing to work, in human resources management or a specialised employment law practice.
This cluster of modules includes:
- Coverage of individual employment relations
- Termination of employment
- Dispute resolution
- How to conduct settlement negotiations, discrimination law and strategy, and whistleblowing
2. The business cluster covers complementary subjects such as:
- Financial performance management
- Leadership and change management
Advanced project management - Corporate governance
- Intellectual property law
3. The programme further incorporates contemporary, cutting edge and topical modules under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) cluster. Example modules include:
- Corporate crime and business integrity
- Business and human rights
- International tax law
