Gianina Harvey-Brewin, Dean of the School of Continuing Education at the University of Roehampton, has been named as a finalist in the Public Sector & Services category at the Black Talent Awards 2026.
The Black Talent Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of Black professionals across the UK. The Public Sector & Services category celebrates individuals working across areas including education, health, housing and the wider public sector.
At Roehampton, the School of Continuing Education supports learners through a range of flexible and career-focused routes, including foundation, international, apprenticeship and professional development programmes. The School plays an important role in widening access to higher education and helping students build the skills, confidence and experience to progress in their studies and careers.
Speaking about the nomination, Gianina Harvey-Brewin said:

The category includes professionals from across education, health, housing and the wider public sector, so to be recognised alongside such talented people is incredibly special.
A huge amount of the work I've done over the last decade has focused on widening access to opportunity through education, skills and employability. I've always been interested in how we create routes for people to fulfil their potential and achieve their ambitions. This is something I’m proud to continue through my work at the University of Roehampton, supporting students and communities to access opportunities and shape their futures.
Whatever happens next, I'm looking forward to celebrating the incredible Black talent being recognised across the UK.”
The winners of the Black Talent Awards 2026 will be announced at a ceremony on 2 October 2026.
