The Centre for Research in Arts and Creative Exchange (CRACE) aims to interrogate what arts research is and can be in the current climate, and to lead, invent and innovate on how research is conducted.
The Centre is based on inclusivity, collaboration and enabling. Drawing on established research strengths across dance, performance, digital media, still and moving images, curatorial practice, transmediation and adaptation, genders and sexualities and diversity and international arts and culture, this is not a project of homogenisation. Rather, it will be an ongoing project to create and recreate our diverse ways of working. We are engaged in work that is transformational and future facing; multidisciplinary; and underpinned by a commitment to social and political change.
Our members are currently working on a diverse range of projects including health and wellbeing, artivism, international, historical and BIPOC perspectives on dance, performance, film and digital and media, and critical perspectives on technologies of practice and production.
