During the two-week session, students will experience in-depth analysis on major gaming topics led by coaches playing in the UK League of Legends professional scene.

Students will hear from guest lecturers covering content creation, esports Law and what it takes to be a professional.

Daily classes will have elements of practical game time as well as feedback on recorded footage.

Our state of the art arena hosts 30 dedicated esports gaming PCs with I9 10th Gen processors and NVIDIA RTX 2060 Supers. Powered by Zowie and Hyperx including 240hz Monitors, Hyperx RGB Mechanical Keyboards and Hyperx Cloud Alpha S Headsets.

You will live in a single occupancy room, within a flat of up to six students with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. We will provide you with all the bedding and cooking equipment you will need. You will live alongside other international students taking part in the Esports Summer School.

The dedicated Roehampton Abroad team will support you during the application process, as you prepare for your arrival and throughout your time at Roehampton. You can find out more about our pre-arrivals process here.

Whilst you are at Roehampton you will have access to all the student support services on campus. This includes Disabilities and Dyslexia services, wellbeing and study support. You can find out more about our support services here.

To help you to make the most of your time in London we have planned a series of social events on and off-campus. These will include welcome and farewell parties, quiz nights, walking tours and cocktails in the city.

We will also update you regularly with events and activities happening locally, including recommendations of food, fun and festivals!

To complement what you learn on campus, a number of our events will introduce you to various aspects of the London esports scene. Locations will include:

  • Hyper Reality
  • Red Bull Gaming Sphere
  • Belong Arena, Oxford Circus
  • Otherworld VR

The programme will also conclude with a visit to the inaugural Esports Championships at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Applications for the International Summer School 2022 are now open. You can start the process here. Applications will close on 1 June 2022.

Students are expected to have a minimum of 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.

The application process is really simple. We need some basic information about you and what you currently study. We will also ask you to upload a copy of your current transcript, provide your League of Legends gamer information and write a short personal statement about why you want to join us at Roehampton.

Once you have submitted your application, we aim to get back to you with a decision within seven days.

Please make sure you discuss your application with your home university or college so they can let you know if there are any additional procedures to follow on their side.

Classes run: 25 July – 5 August 2022
Departure: 6 August 2022


The full cost of the programme is £1500.

Included in the package price is:

  • Tuition/coaching
  • Housing in on-campus accommodation with shared bathroom and kitchen

If a student withdraws within 1 month prior to arrival, there is a £250 Administrative Fee due, exceptional circumstances considered. If a student withdraws after arrival, they are liable to pay full fees.
