FAQs

Please email registry@roehampton.ac.uk as a first starting point, stating your interest in returning to Roehampton. Please include your previous Roehampton student number in this email. This should be three letters followed by eight numerical digits. If you can’t find your student number, please include your full name and date of birth in the email.

We will aim to get back to you with an initial response within 10 working days.

Please bear in mind that you must be the one to get in touch and to handle all correspondence with Registry relating to your return. We cannot communicate with a family member or friend and cannot discuss your case with anyone else.

The following scenarios may prevent former students from resuming their studies:

  • If you were ‘programme terminated’. If you were previously programme terminated from a programme at Roehampton then it is highly unlikely you will be able to return and resume your studies in the same programme. However, you may be able to return on another programme of study, or return but commence your studies from the beginning.
  • If you were expelled for disciplinary reasons. If your expulsion was time limited, you are permitted to return. If it is permanent, you will not be permitted to return.
  • If your period of study at Roehampton was more than five years ago. We will not ordinarily accept credits form more than five years ago. If this is the case for you, you will need to start your studies again from the beginning rather than resuming your studies from the point at which you left.

This will involve transferring your credits from your previous programme to the new programme of study. The programme convenor for the new programme, will be asked to make an assessment of whether this is possible. Transferring from one programme to another is not guaranteed.

Resuming your studies, or repeating a year, can impact your eligibility for student finance support and you should contact your finance provider (e.g. Student Finance England) about this at the earliest opportunity. Guidance from the Student Loans Company about this is available here. You can also contact our Student Finance Team for advice at StudentFinance@roehampton.ac.uk.
