Where you'll be learning

Based in Whitelands College, our specialist biological sciences facilities provide access to the equipment, technologies and laboratory environments used across modern bioscience, zoology and ecology. You'll gain hands-on experience in dedicated teaching and research laboratories, developing practical skills in laboratory analysis, fieldwork and scientific investigation.

  • Work in specialist biological sciences and zoology laboratories equipped for practical learning, experimental research and independent projects.
  • Use state-of-the-art equipment including advanced microscopes, imaging software, DNA sequencing technology and flow cytometers to investigate biological systems and ecological processes.
  • Develop laboratory skills in molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, physiology and biodiversity research using industry-relevant scientific techniques.
  • Access dedicated laboratory spaces designed to support specimen analysis, biological investigation and ecological research.
  • Apply your learning through fieldwork opportunities in locations including Richmond Park, Wimbledon Common, Wales and South Africa, using professional ecological survey and environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Analyse biological and ecological data using specialist software and digital tools that support laboratory and field-based research.

  • A list of your qualifications (including GCSEs) and the grades you achieved in each
  • The name of the course you are interested in

We'll ask you for the information above and then will let you know if we can make you an offer. 

At this stage, offers will be conditional and will only be confirmed once you have added a Clearing choice in UCAS or made a direct application and met your conditions.

Flexible offer-making - we will consider your wider circumstances in considering your offer. We accept a wide range of qualifications including BTEC qualifications, A-levels, and T-levels and will offer flexibility depending on your wider circumstances. We welcome applications from students of all ages and backgrounds.
