Safe and affordable campus
The University of Roehampton was ranked the third safest university in England and Wales in the 2024 Complete University Guide, based on crime rates in the areas where students live during term time.
If you choose to live on campus, you'll benefit from 24/7 security, as well as support from flat reps, college wardens and other staff who are available outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends.
We’re also proud to offer London’s best-value student accommodation. Independent research by Monzo recognised Roehampton as the capital’s most affordable university for accommodation, helping make studying in London more accessible.

Research Excellence Framework
We are jointly recognised as the best modern university in the country for research, and the highest-ranked modern university in London.
What does this mean for our students? They get to learn from global experts, and cover topics and research at the forefront of their fields of study.
It also means our students get to join a thriving, research-active community. Every semester there are opportunities to go along to seminars, discussions and workshops, hear from internationally recognised guest speakers, and take part in research studies being led by staff and students.
- 77% of the research we submitted has been ranked ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’, an increase of 11% since REF2014
- We have been ranked 51 (of 129 institutions) overall by GPA, an increase of nine places since REF2014.
