The Roehampton Master’s in Nutrition and Metabolic Disorders (MRes) will help you develop your interest in nutrition by gaining the specialist skills needed to be a leader in your field.

By focusing on important insights into contemporary developments in clinical nutrition, you’ll become a confident, agile, independent thinker, with the ability to adapt rapidly to change.

You’ll graduate with the knowledge and skills to:

  • Undertake modern nutrition research with a project which will give you experience of specialist research techniques
  • Carry out research design and data handling and analysis with the use of statistics.

This specialist programme offers a highly topical theoretical and practical training in the science behind nutrition in preparation for your rewarding career within health research, a clinical environment or the health industry.

With the imminent global obesity crisis and the associated increase in human metabolic disorders, there is increasing demand for interventions and experts who can offer solutions for healthy diets and nutrition to tackle these issues.

As a member of the programme, you will join the Centre for Integrated Research in Life and Health Sciences and will be encouraged to attend research seminars and lab meetings led by experts who are currently investigating a range of cutting-edge developments in Nutrition and health sciences.

Working in high-spec facilities, like our state-of-the-art facilities and excellent laboratories including a food lab with sensory analysis tasting booths and specialist laboratories for physiology, microbiology, and computing.

  • Principles of Nutrition
  • Obesity and Metabolism

Subject-specific lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical work will both introduce and prepare you for recent advances in the field, both theoretical and technological and their applications in Nutrition.
