International scholarships for undergraduate students

Roehampton College Scholarship

The University has a proud history dating back more than 180 years through its historic colleges, all of which were formed in the 19th century. Our Colleges were founded on the principle of widening access to education and this remains a key mission of the University today.

We are committed to widening access to an international study experience at our beautiful campus in south west London, and to help promote access to study opportunities at Roehampton we are pleased to offer any international or study abroad students applying from one of College partner institutions a Roehampton College Scholarship in the form of a 15% discount on tuition fees. Your scholarship will be applied in the form of a tuition fee discount.  

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Roehampton College scholarship you must:

  • Apply from a member institutions from the Universities college networks (as stated below)
  • Be an overseas fee paying full degree students or fee paying study abroad student
  • Apply for an Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught or semester long study abroad programme with a minimum of 60 credit.
  • Complete this form and submit alongside your application to study with us.

International Excellence Scholarship

We offer a range of generous scholarships worth up to £4,000 per year, as a tuition fee discount, to high achieving undergraduate (Bachelor's) international students*.

They are worth the following:

  • £4,000 scholarships (x3 years)
  • £2,500 scholarships (x3 years)
  • £1,000 scholarships (x3 years)

Key Information

  • They can be combined with any other scholarship, but not the Alumni Referral Discount or Alumni Discount.
  • They are available to undergraduate students with an international fees status only.
  • Extended degrees: Scholarships will be applied in year 2 where criteria is met at point of application

* Available to students from outside the UK and EU who have overseas fee status.


EU Transition Scholarship

We are delighted to offer a scholarship to all EU students joining an undergraduate degree or postgraduate Masters course in September 2021. The scholarship means that EU students will automatically benefit from a tuition fee discount to bring their fee in line with tuition fees we are charging current UK students (“home fees”). To read more about it, please click here.


Alumni Referral Discount

For international students enrolling on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme who have been referred by an alumnus of the university who holds a full Roehampton qualification or who studied here on an exchange/study abroad programme. Applicants must be enrolling in a programme which is taught on campus.

Key Information

  • This scholarship cannot be applied to students enrolling on a short course, including Pre-sessional, International Foundation Certificate, Pre-masters Certificate, Foundation Degree or CPD.
  • The scholarship is a tuition fee discount of 20% of tuition fees.
  • This discount is not available in conjunction International Excellence Scholarship.
  • Awarded based on completion of a relevant form.

Roehampton Music Scholarship

The University of Roehampton offers music scholarships to students demonstrating high levels of excellence in music. They enable undergraduate and postgraduate students to meet some of the costs of developing their talents through lessons, courses, or the purchase of relevant equipment (instruments/strings/sheet music). In return, music scholars enhance the cultural life of the University through performances and other activities.

The cash scholarships are worth up to £1,200 per year. Successful recipients also receive travel and entry costs for competitions and gym access.

Key Information

  • The scholarships are awarded by the Director of Music, based on an assessment of an application and audition.
  • They can be combined with any other scholarship.
  • They are available to home, EU and international students.

Scholarship for Sporting Excellence

The University is dedicated to giving its students the opportunity to play sports at all levels. We recognise the difficulties students encounter trying to balance academic studies with training and competition schedules. Alongside the scholarship, we offer a support network designed to encourage talented sports men and women to meet their full potential in their academic studies, as well as their chosen sport.

Cash scholarships worth between £500 and £1500 per year. Successful recipients also receive travel and entry costs for competitions and gym access.

Key Information

  • The scholarships are awarded by the Sport and Active Communities Manager after enrolment, based on an assessment made during an application process.
  • They can be combined with any other scholarship.
  • They are available to home and international students.

Esports Scholarships

Up to 20 cash scholarships, worth £1,500 per year of your degree, are available to students who demonstrate aptitude in esports.

Key Information

  • The scholarships are awarded based on an assessment of an additional online application, and subsequently approved by a panel.
  • They can be combined with any other scholarship.
  • The scholarships are available to students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including international and full-year study abroad students.

Roehampton Women in Esports scholarship

Up to four scholarships available to first year students starting in September, each worth up to £1,500 a year. The programme aims to improve diversity and inclusivity in the esports industry and to inspire the next generation of women esports professionals.

  • The scholarships are awarded based on an assessment of an additional online application, and subsequently approved by a panel.
  • They can be combined with any other scholarship.
  • The scholarships are available to students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including international and full-year study abroad students.

Country Scholarships

We want to encourage ambitious students from selected countries to study with us at the University of Roehampton. We know how much the costs of tuition fees, living expenses, accommodation are in real terms, so we have put in place extra financial support to help students to afford to study at Roehampton.

  • Country Scholarship A: This award is worth £2,500 to each successful applicants who enrols in September or January.
  • Country Scholarship B: This award is worth £1,500 to each successful applicants who enrols in September or January.

Scholarship awarded for each year of study (maximum of 3 years for Undergraduate)

Eligibility

We will automatically consider you for this award if you hold a conditional offer for an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree course. You must successfully enrol for the September or January intake in order to receive the award. Scholarship will be awarded in the form of a tuition fee discount.

  • Scholarship A: Be a national of, and living in, one of these countries:- Bangladesh; Brazil; Colombia; Myanmar; Nepal; Pakistan; Nigeria; Ghana; Sri Lanka; Vietnam.
  • Scholarship B: Be a national of, and living in, one of these countries:- Egypt, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Morocco, Taiwan, Turkey.

In addition, you must:

  • Be self-funded, studying full-time and paying overseas tuition fees.
  • Hold a conditional offer for a qualifying course before the deadline.
  • Not be progressing to us through our partnership with QA Higher Education, students progressing through this route will be eligible for alternative scholarship offerings.

Further Information

This award cannot combined with any other Roehampton scholarship or discount. If you are eligible for two scholarships or discounts, we will award you the one of the highest value.

The University of Roehampton has sole discretion to assign, vary or withdraw this award.


Non EU-EEA Visa Reimbursement

The University of Roehampton remains committed to increasing diversity by continuing to welcome students from EEA countries (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) to come to study with us for the 2021-22 academic cycle. We are aware that due to BREXIT there is an additional visa cost for students from EEA countries from January 2021 onwards.

We recognise that students from the EEA may not have been prepared for these additional costs when applying to study with us. The University is therefore offering a visa fee reimbursement for EEA students starting a degree programme in the 2021/22 academic year.

The reimbursement will cover the £348 visa application fee for degree programmes starting in the 2021-22 academic year and will be paid directly to students once enrolment is completed.

Eligibility

To receive this reimbursement you must successfully complete enrolment for your intake in the 2021-22 academic cycle.

In addition, you must be:

  • Studying full-time and paying overseas tuition fees.
  • a national of, and living in: Norway, Liechtenstein or Iceland


These scholarships are only available to current students at the University of Roehampton.

We reserve the right to adjust the value, volume and eligibility criteria of our scholarship and bursary programmes.

All scholarships offered by Roehampton are awarded based on you completing the year of study for which they are granted. If you withdraw or interrupt your studies during the course of an academic year, you will only be entitled to the proportion of scholarship that relates to the period that you have completed, and will become liable for any tuition fee shortfall as a result.
