Please note that courses running online and on campus will be subject to recruitment. In case of cancellation, the University will not cover any expenses incurred, including but not limited to all forms of travel and accommodation.

Terms and Conditions of our Short Courses & Professional Development Programmes
Welcome to Short Courses & Professional Development Programmes (SC&PDP). The following are the rules or "Terms" that govern use of the SC&PDP website. By using or visiting the site, you expressly agree to be bound by these terms and to follow these terms and all applicable laws and regulations governing the site. SC&PDP is a website service run by the University of Roehampton and we reserve the right to change these terms at any time, effective immediately upon posting on the site. Please check this page of the site periodically. If you violate these Terms of Use, SC&PDP may terminate your use of the site, bar you from future use of the site, cancel your booking, and/or take appropriate legal action against you.

Cancellation of courses
By participants: 

Cancellations and refunds – within the cancellation period
You have the statutory right to cancel this contract without giving any reason within the cancellation period. The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day you enter into a contract with Roehampton (that is the date when you make the payment). If you cancel this contract within the cancellation period, you will receive a full refund. If you choose a course that is due to start within the cancellation period and you then with to cancel after your course has started, you will be required to pay for any part of your course that has taken place before you gave notice of cancellation. This amount will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

To cancel within 14 days  please inform us in writing, by emailing shortcourses@roehampton.ac.uk Please write the name of your course in the subject-line of your email.

If you cancel your place on a course at any time after expiry of the 14 day cancellation period you will not be entitled to a refund.

Deferrals to the next course date are permitted only with the 14 day cancellation period.
Cancellation by Us:

Where there are good reasons to do so the University may cancel your course and will make every reasonable effort to give you as much notice of cancellation as possible (normally at least 10 working days prior to the start date). The University will refund all fees paid by you.  

The University’s liability when it cancels a course will be limited to a refund of any fees or charges paid for the cancelled course.  For partial cancellation of a course, such refunds will be made on a proportionate basis.

All Bookings taken by SC&PDP on this site or by agents acting on behalf of SC&PDP are taken subject to this cancellation clause.

Bookings
Places booked on courses are only confirmed by receipt of the full course payment or where indicated on the booking page, by payment of a deposit.

Changes to Courses  
The University will seek to deliver each course in accordance with the description set out on your course web page.  

However, there may be situations in which it is desirable or necessary for the University to make changes in course provision, either before or after enrolment. The University therefore reserves the right to:  

(a). Make reasonable changes to the timetable, location or academic staff specified for a course; and  

(b). Make reasonable changes to the content and syllabus of a course.  

Permitted Use
You agree that you are only authorised to visit, view and to retain a copy of pages of this site for your own personal use, and that you shall not duplicate, download, publish, modify or otherwise distribute the material on this site for any purpose other than to review event and promotional information, for personal use, or to book places on courses or search for information concerning the services provided by Univeristy of Roehampton, for your personal use, unless otherwise specifically authorized by SC&PDP to do so. You also agree not to deep-link to the site for any purpose, unless specifically authorised by SC&PDP to do so. The content and software on this site is the property of SC&PDP or suppliers of services to SC&PDP.

Disclaimers SC&PDP does not promise that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, nor that it will provide specific results from use of the site or any content, search or link on it. The site and its content are delivered on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. SC&PDP cannot ensure that files you download from the site will be free of viruses or contamination or destructive features. We will terminate the privileges of any user who uses this site to unlawfully transmit copyrighted material without a license express consent, valid defence or fair use exemption to do so. Links and Search Results
The site may automatically produce search results that reference or link to third party sites throughout the World Wide Web. SC&PDP has no control over these sites or the content within them. Offline Conduct
Although SC&PDP cannot monitor the conduct of its Users off the site, it is also a violation of these rules to use any information obtained from this site in order to harass, abuse, or harm another person, or in order to contact, advertise to, solicit or sell to any user without their prior explicit consent.

No Commercial Use
No area of this site may be used by tutors or visitors to the site for any commercial purposes without our prior written consent to make commercial offers of any kind, whether by advertising, solicitations, links, or any other form of communication.

Access and Interference
You agree that you will not use any robot, spider, other automatic device, or manual process to monitor or copy our web pages or the content contained thereon or for any other unauthorized purpose without our prior expressed written permission. You agree that you will not use any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the SC&PDP website. You agree that you will not take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure. You agree that you will not copy, reproduce, alter, modify, create derivative works, or publicly display any content (except for your own person, non-commercial use) from our website without the prior expressed written permission of SC&PDP.

Unauthorized use of the site illegal and/or unauthorized uses of the Site, including, but not limited to, unauthorized booking sales, unauthorized framing of or linking to the site, or unauthorized use of any robot, spider or other automated devise on the site, will be investigated and appropriate legal action will be taken, including without limitation civil, criminal and injunctive redress.

Violation of the Terms
You understand and agree that in SC&PDP's sole discretion, and without prior notice, SC&PDP may terminate your access to the site, cancel your bookings or exercise any other remedy available and remove any unauthorized user content, if SC&PDP believes that the user content you provided has violated or is inconsistent with these Terms of Use violated the rights of SC&PDP, another user or the law.
Limitation on liability except in jurisdictions where such provisions are restricted, in no event will SC&PDP be liable to you for any indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special or punitive damages, including also lost profits,even if SC&PDP has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Disputes
This site is controlled and operated by SC&PDP from its offices in the United Kingdom. If there is any dispute about or involving the site, by using the site, you agree that the dispute will be governed and construed by English law. In the event of a dispute arising out of or relating to these terms and conditions, or your use of or access to this site, litigation must be brought in court in London, England without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold SC&PDP, its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents and other partners and employees, harmless from any loss, liability, claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of the site, including also your use of the site to provide a link to another site or to upload content or other information to the site.

Freedom of Information

In compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (2000) the University will be open and transparent in its recording and provision of information, whilst having regard for the requirements and sensibilities of confidentiality.

The University has adopted the Information Commissioner’s Model Publication Scheme for Higher Education. The University recognises its duty to provide advice and assistance in relation to requests for information and will respond to requests for information promptly and will endeavour to deal with all requests within the time limit of 20 working days specified in the Act.

In the implementation of this policy the University reserves the right to charge fees for the provision of information in accordance with regulations made under the Act.
