Start university from where you are. Go further than anyone expected.

At the University of Roehampton, our Foundation Year and CertHE (Certificate of Higher Education) courses are designed for you if you may need a different starting point into higher education.

Your potential was never the question. This is where you start, with supportive teaching, a welcoming campus community and the chance to build the confidence, study skills and subject knowledge needed for degree preparation and progression.

Whether you are returning to study, changing direction or your results were not what you hoped for, you can take your next step at Roehampton through one of our alternative routes and entry pathways into university, and work towards the future you want.

Why study at Roehampton?

  • Start from where you are: University does not have to begin the same way for everyone. Our Foundation Year and CertHE courses give you a different starting point into higher education.
  • Your potential comes first: Whether you are returning to study, changing direction or taking your next step after Clearing, we will help you build confidence, study skills and subject knowledge.
  • Be part of university from day one: Study on campus, meet other students and join a welcoming Roehampton community while preparing for what comes next.
  • Choose the route that works for you: A Foundation Year helps you prepare to progress onto a degree, while a CertHE gives you a recognised qualification in one year with options to continue studying.
  • Learn with support around you: Benefit from supportive teaching, practical guidance and a university community that understands everyone’s route is different.
  • Go further than expected: Your starting point does not define your future. At Roehampton, what matters is where you go from here.
