Modules

In this module you will develop the financial knowledge and analytical skills needed to support effective business decision-making. You will explore financial reporting, financial statement analysis, ratio analysis, balanced scorecards and investment appraisal techniques, applying these tools to evaluate organisational performance. The module also examines sustainability reporting, artificial intelligence, economic change and other emerging factors influencing financial performance. Through the analysis of real business scenarios, you will learn to interpret financial and non-financial information, assess organisational performance and make evidence-based recommendations, preparing you to support strategic decision-making across a wide range of business and hospitality organisations.

In this module you will explore the leadership skills required to manage people effectively within the modern hospitality industry. You will examine contemporary workforce challenges, including talent management, employee wellbeing, organisational change, the gig economy and multigenerational workforces. The module considers how emotional intelligence, inclusive leadership and psychological safety contribute to organisational performance, alongside the use of workforce data to support strategic decision-making. You will develop practical approaches to leading teams, managing change and improving employee engagement, preparing you to build resilient, high-performing hospitality organisations in an increasingly dynamic global environment.

In this module you will develop the knowledge, confidence and critical thinking needed to use artificial intelligence responsibly in professional settings. You will explore how AI works, understand its strengths and limitations, and evaluate AI-generated outputs with a critical perspective. Through hands-on projects using real AI tools, you will examine ethical issues such as bias, fairness and governance while considering discipline-specific challenges. You will also learn how to assess AI adoption, communicate complex AI concepts to non-specialist audiences, and make informed decisions in AI-augmented workplaces, drawing on real-world examples from London's leading industries and professional sectors.

In this module you will develop the knowledge and strategic skills to build, manage and evaluate digital brands within the global hospitality industry. You will explore brand positioning, brand equity, digital communication and cross-cultural branding, examining how organisations create consistent yet locally relevant brand identities. The module considers the impact of social media, artificial intelligence, sustainability and changing consumer expectations on hospitality branding. Through the analysis of real-world hospitality brands, you will learn to assess brand performance, develop digital branding strategies and create compelling brand communications that strengthen customer engagement and competitive advantage in international hospitality markets.

In this module you will explore how exceptional guest experiences are designed, delivered and evaluated across the hospitality industry. You will examine the complete guest journey, analysing the touchpoints that influence customer satisfaction, loyalty and value creation. The module explores service design, servicescapes, customer behaviour and cultural influences alongside emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital platforms and personalised services. You will apply techniques including customer journey mapping, service blueprinting and design thinking to develop innovative, customer-centred hospitality experiences that enhance operational performance, strengthen brand reputation and create competitive advantage in global hospitality environments.

30 credits

In this module you will work in cross-disciplinary teams to solve a real strategic challenge set by a London-based organisation. Applying the knowledge and skills developed throughout your programme, you will analyse complex business problems, evaluate evidence and develop practical recommendations for employers. Following a structured consultancy process, you will present your findings to a panel of academic and industry professionals, gaining valuable experience of collaborative problem-solving and professional communication. You will also complete an individual critical reflection, evaluating your contribution, considering different disciplinary perspectives, and identifying key insights to support your future professional development and leadership.

In this module you will apply your academic knowledge within a professional hospitality environment through an industry internship. Working alongside hospitality professionals, you will contribute to live operational activities, business projects or strategic initiatives while developing practical management experience. The module encourages you to strengthen your leadership, communication, resilience and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced workplace. Alongside your placement, you will reflect on your professional development, evaluate the application of management theory in practice and build a portfolio demonstrating your workplace achievements, preparing you for graduate careers across the international hospitality industry.

How you’ll learn

Get ahead with our practical, experiential learning environment.  You'll actively apply your knowledge to real industry challenges from the outset, not just study them.

Your learning is structured around a focused two-day timetable each block. Each day begins with a concise lecture introducing key concepts, followed by an extended, hands-on workshop where you'll work in small groups to tackle practical tasks, explore case studies, and respond to real-world industry problems. Dedicated time for discussion and reflection ensures you can consolidate your learning and connect it to professional practice. 

You'll also engage in collaborative digital workspaces and experiential activities, including live projects and the use of industry-standard tools. Together, these experiences ensure you develop practical, workplace-ready skills and a global perspective on hospitality management.

Block mode teaching

This course will be taught in dedicated blocks.

This innovative approach means that you will be taught in six-week blocks that focus exclusively on one module at a time. You will be able to fully immerse yourself in each topic and apply your learning effectively. There is also flexibility to join at any entry point within the cycle of this course.

Each module block includes eight teaching hours (lectures and practical workshops) each week, over two days.
