You may be eligible to apply for a range of scholarships if you are joining us in 2024 and 2025.

Scholarships are awarded whereby eligibility is based on overseas fee payer status cannot be combined with UK/home scholarships.

We offer a range of generous scholarships worth up to £4,000 per year, as a tuition fee discount, to high achieving undergraduate (Bachelor's) international students*.

They are worth the following:

  • £4,000 scholarships (x3 years)
  • £2,500 scholarships (x3 years)
  • £1,000 scholarships (x3 years)

£2,000 fees discount are offered to two students of the University of Roehampton as part of the celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of Southlands College.

Students eligible for this award will need to be either applying for undergraduate study in the School of Education, or already on an Education programme at the University of Roehampton.

The programmes included are: 

  • Early Childhood Studies
  • Education Practice
  • Improving Outcomes in Special and Inclusive Education
  • Primary Education QTS
  • Psychology
  • Education Practice.

Expectations of Scholars 

The student awarded the scholarship will be expected to engage with Southlands College and attend meetings with trustees where possible to talk about their studies and experience at Roehampton.

£1,000 fees discount are offered to two students of the University of Roehampton as part of the celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of Southlands College.

Students applying for this scholarship will need to demonstrate that they intend to use their study with the goal of social good. Social good can mean many things and students are invited to think creatively about how they will engage with the world in a meaningful way as a result of their time at University of Roehampton and the programme they have chosen.

Expectations of Scholars 

The student awarded the scholarship will be expected to engage with Southlands College and attend meetings with trustees where possible to talk about their studies and experience at Roehampton.

Southlands College Teaching Scholarships will be awarded to two students, who meet the following criteria: Pursuing a course through the university which leads to qualified teacher status in the UK. Commitment to active participation in college life at the University of Roehampton. Financial need criterion also considered.

£1,000 bursary payment are offered to students of the University of Roehampton.

Students will need to demonstrate that they intend to use their study with the goal of social good. Social good can mean many things and students are invited to think creatively about how they will engage with the world in a meaningful way as a result of their time at University of Roehampton and the programme they have chosen.

Applications for bursaries can be made at any point in the year, from the point of being enrolled on a programme.

Money awarded as part of a bursary will be transferred to students in two parts. Initial payments will be made shortly after the panel decision to award, with the second payment being made at a mid-way point in the academic year depending on circumstances. Funds can only be transferred into UK bank accounts.

Expectations of Scholars 

The student awarded the scholarship will be expected to engage with the university and attend meetings with trustees where possible to talk about their studies and experience at Roehampton.

The University of Roehampton offers music scholarships to students demonstrating high levels of excellence in music.

The scholarships enable undergraduate and postgraduate students to meet some of the costs of developing their talents through lessons, courses, or the purchase of relevant equipment (instruments/strings/sheet music). In return, music scholars enhance the cultural life of the university through performances and other activities.

The cash scholarships are worth up to £1,200 per year. Successful recipients also receive travel and entry costs for competitions and gym access.

Key Information

  • The scholarships are awarded by the Director of Music, based on an assessment of an application and audition
  • They can be combined with any other scholarship
  • They are available to home, EU and international students
  • The scholarship is paid as a cash award

The University is dedicated to giving its students the opportunity to play sports at all levels.

We recognise the difficulties students encounter trying to balance academic studies with training and competition schedules. Alongside the scholarship, we offer a support network designed to encourage talented sports people to meet their full potential in their academic studies, as well as their chosen sport.

Cash scholarships are available, worth between £500 and £1500 per year, based on submission of an application. Successful recipients also receive travel and entry costs for competitions and gym access.

Key Information

  • The scholarships are awarded by the Sport and Active Communities Manager after enrolment, based on an assessment made during an application process
  • They can be combined with any other scholarship
  • They are available to home and international students
  • The scholarship is paid as a cash award.

Up to 20 cash scholarships, worth £2,000 per year of your degree, are available to students who demonstrate aptitude in esports.

Key Information

  • The scholarships are awarded based on an assessment of an additional online application, and subsequently approved by a panel
  • The scholarships are available to students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including international and full-year study abroad students
  • They cannot be combined with the Women in Esports scholarship
  • The annual scholarships are paid termly, after enrolment
  • The scholarship is paid as a cash award

Up to four scholarships available to first year students starting in September, each worth up to £2,000 a year.

The programme aims to improve diversity and inclusivity in the esports industry and to inspire the next generation of women esports professionals.

  • They cannot be combined with the Esports Scholarships
  • The scholarships are available to students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including international and full-year study abroad students
  • The annual scholarships are paid termly, after enrolment
  • The scholarship is paid as a cash award

We want to encourage ambitious students from selected countries to study with us at the University of Roehampton. We know how much the costs of tuition fees, living expenses, accommodation are in real terms, so we have put in place extra financial support to help students to afford to study at Roehampton.

  • Country Scholarship A: This award is worth £2,500 to each successful applicants who enrols in September or January.
  • Country Scholarship B: This award is worth £1,500 to each successful applicants who enrols in September or January.

Scholarship awarded for each year of study (maximum of three years for undergraduate)

Eligibility

We will automatically consider you for this award if you hold a conditional offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course. You must successfully enrol for the September or January intake in order to receive the award. Scholarship will be awarded in the form of a tuition fee discount.

  • Scholarship A: Be a national of, and living in, one of these countries: Albania; Bangladesh; Brazil; Colombia; Myanmar; Nepal; Pakistan; Nigeria; Ghana; Sri Lanka; Vietnam; Thailand; Indonesia; Kenya
  • Scholarship B: Be a national of, and living in, one of these countries: Egypt, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Morocco, Taiwan, Turkey; Mexico; South Africa

In addition, you must:

  • Be self-funded, studying full-time and paying overseas tuition fees
  • Hold a conditional offer for a qualifying course before the deadline
  • Not be progressing to us through our partnership with QA Higher Education, students progressing through this route will be eligible for alternative scholarship offerings

To help promote access to study opportunities at Roehampton we are pleased to offer any international or study abroad students applying from one of our college partner institutions, a Roehampton College Scholarship in the form of a 15% discount on tuition fees. Your scholarship will be applied in the form of a tuition fee discount. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Roehampton College scholarship you must:

  • Apply from a member institution from the Universities college networks (as stated below)
  • Be an overseas fee paying full degree students or fee paying study abroad student
  • Apply for an undergraduate, postgraduate taught or semester long study abroad programme with a minimum of 60 credits
  • Complete this form and submit alongside your application to study with us

These scholarships are only available to current students at the University of Roehampton.

We reserve the right to adjust the value, volume and eligibility criteria of our scholarship and bursary programmes.

We have launched a new scholarship for home and overseas students enrolling on Roehampton Higher Technical Qualifications (HNC / HND). 

It will be automatically awarded to all home and overseas students enrolling in September 2024 on a higher national certificate or higher national diploma.

The scholarships are worth £2000, paid for the length of your course. The scholarship is subject to your progression to the next academic year of study (or course completion) and your ongoing attendance.

It is available to all students with home or overseas fee status, enrolling in September 2024.  

This scholarship can be combined with other scholarships and bursaries.

A scholarship of £5000 is available for students from European Union (EU) countries with EU nationality and overseas fee status, enrolling at Roehampton in 2024 or 2025 (all intakes).  

  • The scholarship is a tuition fee discount which will be awarded for the first year of study and subsequent years of study
  • EU nationals with overseas fee status are eligible only
  • This can only be combined with the esports, sports and music scholarships

For the September 2024 entry, we are offering a scholarship of £3,000 for all overseas fee-paying students applying for one of the new Engineering and Technology Undergraduate courses:

  • Architectural Technology
  • Civil Engineering
  • Construction Management

The scholarship will be awarded for year 1 of study only. 

Further Information

This award can be combined with other Roehampton scholarships or discounts in year 1 of study, up to a maximum of £4,000. If you are eligible for two scholarships or discounts, the value awarded will be capped at £4,000 for year 1.

Any scholarship amounts awarded in year 2 or 3 of study will be unaffected.

Available to students from outside the UK who have overseas fee status.

These scholarships are only available to current undergraduate students at the University of Roehampton.

We reserve the right to adjust the value, volume and eligibility criteria of our scholarship and bursary programmes.

All scholarships offered by Roehampton are awarded based on you completing the year of study for which they are granted. If you withdraw or interrupt your studies during the course of an academic year, you will only be entitled to the proportion of scholarship that relates to the period you have completed. You may be liable for any tuition fee shortfall.
