What is Clearing?

Clearing opens 7am, Thursday 15 August.

Clearing is an opportunity for you to find a course that is right for you, whether you’ve changed your mind about where and what you want to study, you’ve just decided you want to go to university this year or you didn’t get the results you were planning.

You might find your perfect course in UCAS Clearing and you know what, we’ll be on hand to help you at every step.

You can apply through Clearing if:

  • You applied after 6pm on 30 June 2024
  • You didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
  • You didn’t receive any offers
  • You did better than you expected in your results and want to change your course or university
  • You’ve accepted an offer but changed your mind on what course you want to study

You’ll be able to apply for Clearing as soon as you receive your exam results.

Courses

We’ll list what courses have spaces through Clearing on our website.

You can then contact us directly to see if you meet the entry requirements.

Many of our courses offer a foundation year (look for the black banner on the course page!) which offers a lower entry requirement and will help get you on the path to your chosen undergraduate degree.
