International Foundation Pathway: Certificate of Higher Education

Our International Foundation Pathway: Certificate of Higher Education courses will give you a route onto one of our undergraduate degrees, in a particular subject area.

The courses are designed to close the gap between your existing qualifications and those required to study an undergraduate degree, whilst developing your English language skills to a level where you can flourish in the UK university system.

The tailored, inclusive international curriculum is taught through a series of modules via lectures, seminars, workshops by our passionate and committed academic staff. You’ll gain the confidence and academic experience you need to prepare you for studying your undergraduate degree.

You’ll study a pathway that best supports your chosen undergraduate degree, where you’ll gain subject-specific knowledge, improve your academic study as well as your English language skills.

Modules

You'll be taught over two semesters in the year: autumn and spring. 

You’ll complete four modules in total, all worth 30 credits each. The modules will build your confidence and knowledge and give you the key skills you need for your chosen undergraduate degree. 

The modules include: 

Term 1

  • English: London as a Global City - where you will develop your core English language skills, visits across London and be introduced to key academic skills and concepts
  • Data Analysis and Research Skills - where you will develop your research, numeracy and information technology skills

Term 2

  • Two subject-area modules – which will be related to your subject area.

Entry requirements

To apply for a International Foundation Pathway: Certificate of Higher Education course, you will need to meet the minimum entry requirements:

  • IELTS: 4.5 / 5.0
  • UCAS International Equivalents (48 entry tariff)
  • 5 GCSE / GCSE passes at grade C/4 or in an international equivalent

  • September 2025 - £16,950

Undergraduate degrees

Once you’ve completed your International Foundation Programme, you can apply to your chosen undergraduate degree within your subject area.
